TheHSPT,mapped.
The HSPT places students into Catholic high schools, and often into their scholarship pools and honors tracks. It moves fast: roughly three hundred questions in about two and a half hours, most of them formats eighth graders have never practiced. We mapped what recurs so a few weeks of prep land where they count.

Whatshowsup.
These are not guesses. Each one appears on the HSPT again and again, and each one is teachable in a session or two.

Verbal classifications and analogies
Which word does not belong, and which pair matches. Formats that reward a practiced method.
02
Number series
The quantitative section leans on sequences and pattern continuation, question after question.
03

The language section returns to the same grammar, capitalization, and punctuation calls every year.
04
Pacing at speed
Under a minute per question for most of the test. Pacing is the difference between placement tiers.
